The Virus, Us, and Impact

It seems like social distancing is actually going to bring us more together.  Funny how life works.

What strikes me (in a good way) is that most folks are aren't social distancing for their own benefit - but are doing it for the benefit of others. That's something special (and at scale!).

It will be interesting to see the impact this process has on our collective approach to other critical issues (global poverty and climate change in particular). We may be entering a new phase of our collective consciousness.

Startups and strategic partnerships

Posted a piece on Vator on startups and strategic partnerships. Partnerships are a tough nut for most startups to crack, but when they do, the reward can be huge.

One thing I've thought about is how startups could do a better job designing their products for eventual partnership. Too many times I've had companies for whom it was just too difficult for them to easily partner with bigger players (typically because product design issues made it impractical).

There could be an interesting line of additional thinking around the way startups could approach product development to anticipate unlocking downstream partnership opportunities.

Hmm, something for a next piece from Advsr methinks.
